Lucid Gravity has been named the 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year, marking the company’s second consecutive win in this category after the Lucid Air took the title in 2023.

The all-electric SUV was selected by an international jury of automotive journalists, outperforming other finalists including the Cadillac Vistiq and Volvo ES90. The award is reserved for vehicles that meet strict luxury criteria, are produced at scale, and are sold across multiple global markets, placing Gravity among the leading premium models worldwide.

This recognition carries broader significance for Lucid. Gravity is only the company’s second model, and its launch represents a strategic move into the high-demand segment of large family SUVs. The award confirms that Lucid has successfully transferred its core technology from the Air sedan into a more versatile and widely appealing format.

The SUV is built on a new platform developed specifically for its segment. It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, standard air suspension, and optional rear-axle steering, improving both high-speed stability and low-speed maneuverability. In Grand Touring specification, output reaches up to 828 horsepower, with acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.4 seconds.

Efficiency remains central to the model’s positioning. The Gravity delivers up to 450 miles of EPA-estimated range, while ultra-fast charging can add approximately 200 miles in under 11 minutes. The vehicle uses a 926-volt architecture designed to support high-power charging networks, including Tesla Superchargers and Electrify America.

Practicality is another defining aspect. The interior accommodates up to seven adults and offers one of the largest cargo capacities in its class, exceeding 120 cubic feet in a five-seat configuration. Even with all seats occupied, the vehicle retains significant storage space behind the third row.

Production is underway in Arizona, with expansion into Europe beginning in Germany through a partner retail network. The Gravity will also be showcased at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, where visitors will be able to experience the vehicle on an EV test track.

The World Car Awards win reinforces Lucid’s position in the premium segment and highlights its ability to compete not only with Tesla, but also with established manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW in the luxury SUV category.
