Discover Porsche Sonderwunsch, where clients create unique cars like 911 Speedster, 911 S/T, Targa 4 GTS, and 911 Dakar, combining design, heritage, and emotion.

For more than seventy years, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme has embodied the brand’s philosophy that a car is not merely a means of transport, but a true expression of a personal dream. Today, it stands as the pinnacle of customisation, allowing customers to go far beyond selecting colours or trims and to actively participate in the creation of a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

Sonderwunsch offers three distinct formats: personalised configuration during production, re-commissioning of an existing car, or the creation of a unique Factory One-Off. In the latter case, the process can span years, involving not only the choice of materials but also the development of original components that meet all technical and legal requirements.

A recent Porsche video series spotlighted four stories in which customers from different parts of the world shared their journey—from the first sketch to the celebratory handover. Italian architect Luca Trazzi brought to life a 911 Speedster (993) in Otto Yellow, named after his dog, featuring a black-and-yellow check leather interior. U.S. horse breeder Jorge Carnicero chose a 911 S/T in Dani Blue with a tricolour Pepita fabric interior. German motorcycling enthusiast Sylvia Schiefer designed her 911 Targa 4 GTS in Agate Grey Metallic with Pure Blue leather accents. Dubai-based collector Hadi Al Hussaini took inspiration from desert landscapes for his 911 Dakar, finished in Aetna Blue with Cohiba Brown leather and tartan fabric in warm earthy tones.

These projects illustrate that, for Porsche, customisation is not just an option—it is a way to deepen the bond between the brand and its enthusiasts. Currently, several unique cars are developed simultaneously, and the waiting list for a Factory One-Off can stretch to as long as eight years. The design phase alone starts at around $100,000, marking just the beginning of a journey that often becomes an emotional, years-long experience for customers.

Sonderwunsch remains a tool through which Porsche not only fulfils requests but also helps clients tell their own story on four wheels. Judging by the interest and the growing number of commissions, many more such stories are yet to come.
