Vision V limousine brings 65-inch screen and immersive tech to Pebble Beach
Mercedes-Benz unveils Vision V in California with 65-inch 4K screen, Dolby Vision, karaoke update and immersive Private Lounge ahead of Pebble Beach 2025.
Mercedes-Benz has brought its Vision V concept to California, making a stop in Los Angeles before taking center stage at the Star Lounge during Pebble Beach Automotive Week 2025 — one of the world’s premier celebrations of automotive culture. Following its debut in Shanghai and a showcase in Dubai, this is the first time the luxury grand limousine has been seen in the United States.
The Vision V is more than a spacious electric van wrapped in prestige — it’s a preview of the upcoming VLS model. The spotlight is on the “Private Lounge,” a secluded interior zone featuring a retractable 65-inch 4K screen with Dolby Vision, supported by an array of technology: 42 speakers including seat exciters, seven projectors, and side windows that transform into additional displays for a 360-degree digital environment. Ambient lighting shifts in sync with the music, enhancing the atmosphere.
For its U.S. tour appearance, the Vision V adds two new highlights: an English-language karaoke track (in China, only a localized version was offered) and richer, higher-contrast visuals powered by Dolby Vision. These features form part of the “seven worlds” — interactive modes ranging from entertainment and gaming to work and shopping.
Externally, the Vision V combines flowing lines and confident proportions with details such as more than 800 miniature louvres in its lighting units, which animate in a welcoming sequence. Inside, traditional materials like wood and Nappa leather meet cutting-edge digital design, creating a space that feels both intimate and futuristic.
The concept is built on the new modular electric VAN.EA architecture, which will underpin a range of Grand Limousines from 2026. This includes the VLE — seating up to eight, designed for families and VIP transport — and the flagship VLS, positioned as the “S-Class of MPVs.” Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that the architecture allows clear separation between luxury private models and commercial vans.
Western media reaction has been broadly positive, noting the radical approach to the format and questioning how such a level of luxury will fit into the U.S. market. Still, Pebble Beach is a fitting stage, continuing a tradition that has seen Mercedes-Benz unveil bold concepts here, including the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 and its cabriolet version.
