Renault introduces the Eco-G 120 LPG engine for Symbioz, expanding its C-SUV lineup with a bi-fuel option focused on efficiency and extended driving range.

More than 100,000 units sold — against this backdrop, Renault takes the next step by introducing the Eco-G 120 engine with petrol and LPG capability to the Symbioz. For a model already established in the C-SUV segment, this is not just an update but a strategic expansion.

Symbioz quickly aligned with European customer expectations: a compact yet spacious crossover measuring 4.41 meters, offering up to 624 liters of cargo space, the OpenR Link system with built-in Google, and an optional Solarbay panoramic roof. This mix of practicality and technology helped the model surpass 100,000 registrations across Europe, including over 42,000 in France.

In this context, the introduction of an LPG version appears as a logical continuation. The new bi-fuel engine delivers 120 hp and is based on a 1.2-liter turbocharged unit, paired with two separate tanks — 48 liters for petrol and 50 liters for LPG. Combined, they provide a driving range of up to 1,400 km, placing the Symbioz among the few vehicles in its class with such extended autonomy.

The move toward LPG reflects demand for lower running costs. This configuration reduces CO₂ emissions by around 10% compared to a petrol engine, down to 116 g/km, while maintaining conventional usability without requiring a shift to full electrification. Renault relies on a well-proven solution, backed by over 15 years of experience, with the system fully integrated at the factory level.

Positioned between the Captur and Austral, the Symbioz is built on the CMF-B HS platform shared with other Renault and Nissan models. This architecture combines familiarity with increased versatility and a higher level of equipment.

The engine lineup now includes hybrid E-Tech options, mild hybrids, and the newly added LPG variant. This broadens customer choice, balancing efficiency with reduced operating costs.

The arrival of the Eco-G 120 strengthens the Symbioz in one of Europe’s most competitive segments. The model already shows strong performance across both private buyers and fleet customers, and the new version adds a compelling argument in favor of cost efficiency without compromising everyday usability.
