A rare Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series P One Edition has already reached a $485,000 bid on Bring a Trailer, with several days still remaining in the auction. The car is one of approximately 40 examples produced exclusively for customers of the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, placing it in a highly exclusive segment of collector vehicles.

This particular example is virtually new, showing just 47 miles on the odometer. It is powered by a heavily revised 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 (M178 LS2) producing 720 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and sends power to the rear wheels through an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. Technical features include dry-sump lubrication, a flat-plane crankshaft, and upgraded turbochargers, distinguishing it from standard AMG GT variants.

The Black Series designation already represents the most extreme iteration of the AMG GT lineup, but the P One Edition goes further. Its exterior features a hand-painted three-pointed star pattern and turquoise accents inspired by the Mercedes-AMG F1 W11 in Petronas livery. That Formula 1 car secured another Constructors’ Championship title, reinforcing the symbolic connection behind the design.

The bodywork is extensively reengineered compared to standard AMG GT models. It includes enlarged air intakes, an adjustable carbon-fiber front splitter, a two-stage rear wing with an active element, and widespread use of carbon fiber across the hood, fenders, roof, and other components. The aerodynamic package closely mirrors GT3 race car technology, reflected in performance benchmarks such as the Nürburgring lap record for a production vehicle.

Inside, the cabin continues the exterior theme with black leather and Alcantara accented by turquoise details. Equipment includes AMG Performance seats, carbon-fiber trim, a Burmester sound system, and advanced driver assistance features. Despite its track-focused engineering, the car remains fully road legal and is reported to have a clean accident history.

The rarity of the P One Edition is directly tied to the AMG ONE program. Only customers of the hypercar—limited to 275 units—were offered the opportunity to acquire this version. This positions the model not just as a high-performance variant, but as part of a broader strategy to deliver exclusive products to a select group of buyers.

Market data shows a wide range of values for similar cars, with previous sales around $395,000 and unsold attempts exceeding $600,000. The current bid of $485,000 sits within this range and may shift further as the auction progresses.
