Bugatti EB110 America certification and market value
Bugatti officially certifies EB110 America SS025, tracing its full history and reinforcing its collector value as demand for EB110 grows worldwide
Bugatti has once again highlighted its mission to safeguard the authenticity of its most iconic creations. At the center of attention stands the rare EB110 America chassis SS025, the first of its kind to receive official certification through the La Maison Pur Sang program.
Launched in 2020 in Molsheim, the initiative is designed to authenticate vehicles across Bugatti’s history. Specialists dive into archival material, cross-check serial numbers and mechanical components, and consult historical records. The outcome is a certificate that not only protects the car’s value but transforms its history into an immersive journey for the owner.
For SS025, Bugatti experts pieced together every stage of its remarkable life. Built as a demonstrator for North America, it combined traits of both the GT and the Super Sport. In 1995, it appeared at the Chicago Auto Show, graced the pages of Robb Report, and won the People’s Choice Award at Concorso Italiano. Later, entrepreneur Romano Artioli—the man behind Bugatti’s 1990s revival—acquired the car and repainted it from Grigio Chiaro to the now emblematic Bugatti Blu.
Over the following years, SS025 continued to turn heads, appearing at prestigious events such as Salon Privé in the UK and even starring in an episode of Jeremy Clarkson’s The Grand Tour. Through it all, the car has retained its originality, from bodywork to powertrain to cockpit.
Against a backdrop of increasing collector demand—where EB110 GT models regularly fetch €1.1–1.5 million at auction and Super Sport examples climb to US$2.5–3 million—the certification of an “America” carries unique weight. It anchors the vehicle not only in the present market but in Bugatti’s living history.
For Bugatti, this process is more than documentation. Each certificate represents a bridge between past and present, and every rediscovered detail strengthens the emotional bond between owner and machine.
