BMW Group presented the new iX3 at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, opening the Neue Klasse era. Over 40 models by 2027 and a preview of the all-electric BMW i3.

At the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, BMW Group unveiled its first production model built on the Neue Klasse platform — the all-electric BMW iX3. The debut marked the fulfillment of a promise made back in 2021 to lead the company into a new era, now reinforced by the plan to launch over 40 new or updated models by 2027, each carrying the Neue Klasse DNA.

Production of the iX3 will begin at the Debrecen plant in Hungary at the end of 2025. The European market launch is scheduled for March 2026 with a price tag of €68,900. In China, sales will follow in the second half of 2026, where the model is expected to play a decisive role in an intensely competitive landscape.

The roadmap does not stop there. In 2026, BMW will present the next Neue Klasse vehicle — a fully electric BMW i3 sedan designed to strengthen the brand’s core. While detailed specifications have not yet been released, BMW has confirmed the use of sixth-generation battery cells, an 800-volt architecture enabling ultra-fast charging, and a completely redefined digital control system.

Digital innovation is equally central to this strategy. Introduced at CES 2025, the new Panoramic iDrive and BMW Operating System X promise to transform the driving experience, with the Neue Klasse serving as the first stage of implementation.

The IAA stage also belonged to other BMW Group brands. MINI, in partnership with lifestyle label Deus Ex Machina, revealed two striking show cars: the electric John Cooper Works “The Skeg,” inspired by surf culture, and the combustion-powered “The Machina,” built for the racetrack. Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad showcased the Vision CE concept — an e-scooter with self-balancing technology and a protective cage design that points toward a new approach to urban mobility.

The message from Munich was clear: BMW Group is not simply introducing new models but setting a comprehensive strategy that blends innovation, sustainability, and brand diversity for the years ahead.
