Hyundai Motor America reveals pricing and features of the limited Elantra N TCR Edition, a motorsport-inspired sedan linked to TCR racing success. Learn more.

Hyundai has set the price of the limited-run Elantra N TCR Edition at nearly $40,000, directly linking the road car to a streak of six consecutive TCR manufacturers’ titles. This is not just a revised sedan, but a deliberate attempt to translate racing experience into a street-legal format.

The TCR Edition starts at $39,250 with a manual gearbox and $40,750 with an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. It is offered exclusively in Performance Blue, a color closely associated with Hyundai’s N division. The limited production run underlines its exclusivity and positions the model not only for enthusiasts but also for collectors.

The differences from the standard Elantra N are concentrated in motorsport-inspired details. The car features an adjustable carbon-fiber swan-neck rear wing, lightweight 19-inch forged wheels, and an upgraded braking system with four-piston calipers. Inside, Alcantara is used on key touchpoints, complemented by Performance Blue accents, including seatbelts. These changes do not alter the core layout but reinforce the car’s track-oriented character.

Under the hood, the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged engine remains. It produces 276 horsepower, with a temporary boost to around 286 horsepower, and delivers approximately 392 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels, supported by an electronic limited-slip differential designed to improve handling during aggressive driving.

The connection to motorsport is central rather than symbolic. The Elantra N TCR race car, powered by a roughly 350-horsepower turbo engine, competes in multiple international series. Hyundai has been active in the TCR category since the late 2010s and has secured six consecutive manufacturers’ titles in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. This success forms the foundation for the road-going TCR Edition.

In terms of positioning, the model enters a competitive segment of performance-focused compact cars. Its pricing places it below the Honda Civic Type R and close to the Toyota GR Corolla, while including components that are often added as aftermarket upgrades. Compared to the standard Elantra N, the TCR Edition carries a premium of about $4,000, reflecting its additional track-focused hardware.

The TCR category itself is built around production-based cars with controlled modifications and unified regulations. This structure keeps race cars closely related to their road counterparts and allows technologies to transfer more directly. With the Elantra N TCR Edition, Hyundai leans into that connection, presenting a car that aims to be as close as possible to its racing counterpart within a production model lineup.
