Renault has presented the R4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car ahead of its 2026 debut, highlighting its design, features and role in the brand’s EV strategy.

Renault brought one of its most important upcoming models to Roland-Garros 2026, unveiling the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric show car in a global premiere ahead of its series production debut scheduled for autumn 2026.

The car serves as the centerpiece of Renault’s presence at the tournament, where the brand has been a premium partner since 2022, with the agreement already extended through 2031. Over the past few years, Roland-Garros has become more than a branding platform for Renault — it has evolved into a recurring stage for showcasing new electric vehicles, including the Renault 5 Roland-Garros edition and the Renault 4 Savane 4x4 Concept.

This latest show car continues that pattern, with a strong emphasis on design. The Roland-Garros version adopts a “sport chic” identity, combining a Glacier White body with black and terracotta accents, tournament-inspired detailing, and 18-inch wheels with a distinctive finish. A defining feature is the Plein Sud configuration, which includes a large electric fabric sunroof designed to enhance the open-air experience, echoing the atmosphere of outdoor clay courts.

Inside, the concept reinforces the same theme. The cabin uses recycled materials and light-colored textile upholstery with a graphic pattern reminiscent of technical sportswear. Details inspired by tennis equipment appear throughout, including a gear selector modeled after a racket grip. Terracotta and blue accents mirror the visual identity of Roland-Garros.

The significance of this model goes beyond its design. Renault positions the Renault 4 E-Tech electric as a more versatile B-segment electric vehicle aimed at a broader audience, complementing the more city-focused Renault 5. The company links the model directly to its goal of helping bring electric vehicles further into the European mainstream.

This strategy is also visible in Renault’s wider presence at the tournament. Alongside the show car, visitors can see the Twingo E-Tech electric and the Renault 5 Roland-Garros edition. The event is supported by a fleet of 188 vehicles, 88% of which are electrified, while autonomous electric shuttles developed with WeRide are once again used to transport spectators across the venue.

In this context, the Renault 4 Roland-Garros E-Tech electric is not a standalone concept but part of a broader, consistent approach: linking new electric models to a major global sporting event and using that platform to demonstrate the brand’s transition toward more accessible electric mobility.

The production version will arrive in autumn 2026, marking the next step from concept showcase to market reality.
