Jeep Receives 2026 Car Design Award for Brand Identity
Jeep wins the 2026 Car Design Award for Brand Design Language, presented at Milan Design Week, recognizing its consistent and evolving SUV design identity.
Jeep has secured one of the most significant recognitions in automotive design, winning the 2026 Car Design Award in the Brand Design Language category. The announcement was made during Milan Design Week, with the official ceremony held on April 22 at the ADI Museum in Milan.
This award does not focus on a single vehicle but evaluates the entire lineup. The jury assessed how consistently and recognizably the brand develops its visual identity across all models. In Jeep’s case, the decision was driven by its ability to preserve historical design elements while adapting them to modern demands. Signature features such as the seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arches remain central visual markers.
This approach is particularly relevant in the current industry context. The award specifically highlights how brands respond to new mobility challenges, including those linked to the energy transition. Jeep was recognized for reinterpreting its identity without abandoning it, maintaining strong associations with freedom and adventure.
The Car Design Award, established in 1984, is regarded as one of the most authoritative honors in the field. Winners are selected by an international jury of automotive journalists. In 2026, five brands reached the final stage in this category: BMW, Cupra, Dacia, Genesis, and Jeep. The final decision in favor of Jeep reflects recognition of a comprehensive design strategy rather than a single project.
According to Daniele Calonaci, Head of Jeep Design in Europe, design will remain a central focus for upcoming models. The team aims to combine authentic SUV functionality with the expectations of European customers, continuing to emphasize a strong and coherent visual identity.
The result highlights a broader shift in the market: not only individual vehicle design matters, but also how a brand builds a unified image across its portfolio. For Jeep, this recognition reinforces its position as a reference point in the SUV segment, where design plays an increasingly strategic role.
