FIAT presents “CIAO FUTURO!” at Milan Design Week 2026, showcasing Fiat 500 heritage, design collaborations, and student mobility concepts. Discover the project.

FIAT shifted the focus away from cars themselves and toward the idea of future urban mobility, presenting it through design, coffee, and play at Milano Design Week 2026. The brand’s “CIAO FUTURO!” installation connects past and future in a single space, from a 1957 Fiat 500 to contemporary collaborations and student concepts.

The project is located in the Tortona district at Magna Pars and forms part of the Fuorisalone program. Visitors are invited not only to observe but to interact — exploring objects, voting on concepts, and experiencing FIAT’s ideas through everyday design. The installation runs throughout Milan Design Week, held from April 20 to 26, 2026.

At the core of the exhibition stands the Fiat 500, presented as a symbol of democratic and recognizable design. Around it, three licensed collaborations reinterpret its identity. The first, with Qeeboo, translates automotive aesthetics into interior design objects, including versions of Stefano Giovannoni’s Rabbit Chair — notably a wheeled edition — alongside accessories inspired by historic Fiat 500 colors and finishes.

The second collaboration, with FAS Pendezza, brings design language into the realm of play. Table football models based on Cross and Ciclope, originally designed by Basaglia + Rota Nodari, adopt visual codes of the Fiat 500. These pieces are intended not only for private interiors but also for public environments such as terraces, hotels, and shared spaces.

The third direction focuses on coffee. Aroma introduces Aroma Caffè FIAT Edition and a dedicated Horeca line, aiming to transform a daily ritual into a design-driven experience where technology, taste, and visual identity converge.

Alongside these collaborations, FIAT explores what comes next. Students from IED in Turin and ISIA in Rome present their visions of compact urban vehicles, offering different interpretations of future mobility. Visitors can engage directly by evaluating and voting on these concepts.

This approach turns the installation into an open dialogue — not only about design, but about the role of mobility in everyday urban life. “CIAO FUTURO!” suggests that FIAT sees mobility as more than transportation: it is part of culture, lifestyle, and a design language that continues to evolve.
