Audi updates the Q4 e-tron with longer range, faster charging, bidirectional power and new infotainment with ChatGPT, as reported by Audi MediaCenter.

The updated Audi Q4 e-tron introduces bidirectional charging for the first time, allowing the electric SUV not only to draw energy from the grid but also to feed it back to external devices or even a household. For Audi, this marks a shift from experimental technology to a production-ready feature.

The upgrade focuses on efficiency and usability. A revised electric motor and improved power electronics increase overall efficiency by around 10%, pushing the maximum WLTP range up to 592 kilometers for the Sportback version. Fast-charging capability has also been enhanced to 185 kW, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in about 27 minutes and adding up to 185 kilometers of range in just ten minutes.

This matters in a segment where competition is intensifying. The Q4 e-tron shares the MEB platform with models such as the Volkswagen ID.4 and Skoda Enyaq, while also competing with the Tesla Model Y and BMW iX1. The Model Y reaches up to 580–622 kilometers WLTP, while the iX1 offers up to 516 kilometers, placing Audi’s updated range figures firmly within the competitive landscape.

Inside, the changes are equally significant. The cabin now features a redesigned digital layout with an 11.9-inch instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, complemented by an optional 12-inch passenger display. The infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS, allowing access to third-party apps without a smartphone. An upgraded voice assistant integrates ChatGPT, enabling natural-language interaction and broader functionality.

Practicality remains a core strength. Built on the MEB platform, the Q4 e-tron retains its flat-floor architecture and spacious interior, offering up to 1,487 liters of cargo space and a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kilograms. Driver assistance systems have also been expanded, including lane guidance, driver monitoring, and advanced safety features designed for everyday use.

The update arrives as Europe’s electric vehicle market continues to grow rapidly, with BEV sales increasing significantly and competition intensifying. Audi itself reported a notable rise in electric vehicle deliveries in 2025, positioning the Q4 e-tron as a central model in its transition strategy.

As a result, the refreshed Q4 e-tron moves beyond its role as an entry point into Audi’s electric lineup, evolving into a more advanced product that combines extended range, digital integration, and the ability to function as part of a broader energy ecosystem.
