2026 Fiat 500e gains Tesla charging and new updates
Stellantis presents the 2026 Fiat 500e with Tesla Supercharger access, updated design and 149-mile range. Explore specs, charging and market context.
Access to Tesla Superchargers is now part of the 2026 Fiat 500e package, a shift that may matter more in daily use than any design update for this compact city EV.
The model gains compatibility with Tesla V3 and V4 Superchargers through a Free2move Charge NACS adapter, opening access to more than 27,500 charging points across North America. For a vehicle with an estimated range of up to 149 miles, charging infrastructure becomes a defining factor, especially in the urban environment the 500e is designed for.
Under the surface, the technical setup remains familiar. The electric motor delivers 117 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, with 0–60 mph achieved in 8.5 seconds. A 42 kWh battery supports a claimed range of up to 149 miles, while fast charging at up to 85 kW can add about 31 miles in five minutes and reach 80% in roughly 35 minutes. Depending on tire configuration, the real-world range can drop to around 141 miles, although higher figures have been recorded in testing.
The 2026 lineup includes two trims: Pop and Icona, priced from $35,700 and $37,700 respectively. A new exterior color, Miami Sunset, joins the palette, while interior updates introduce a body-color dashboard on the Pop version and a pearl dashboard finish on Icona regardless of exterior paint.
Design continuity remains central. The interior still echoes the 1957 Fiat 500 through its dashboard layout, steering wheel and visual cues, while integrating modern technology such as a 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 display, a 7-inch digital cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging.
The broader context around the model is more complex. Despite being one of Europe’s best-selling city EVs and earning over 40 international awards, including strong Green NCAP ratings and multiple Urban Green Car of the Year titles, production at the Mirafiori plant in Turin has previously been paused due to weak demand in the European market. Stellantis continues to invest in the platform, including plans for an updated battery version and a hybrid variant.
Against this backdrop, North America becomes increasingly important. The company highlights strong performance in Canada, where the 500e has positioned itself as one of the more affordable electric hatchbacks, and expanded charging access may strengthen its appeal in the U.S.
The Fiat 500e remains a niche product — compact, lightweight at just over 3,000 pounds, and tailored for urban mobility. However, access to one of the largest fast-charging networks in the region significantly improves its practicality, potentially reshaping how the model is perceived beyond Europe.
