McLaren 750S JC96 limited edition celebrates Japanese racing legacy
McLaren launches the 750S JC96, a 61-unit Japan-only edition with MSO HDK, bespoke livery options and race-inspired interior to honour the 1996 JGTC F1 GTR.
McLaren has unveiled the 750S JC96, a special edition supercar created exclusively for the Japanese market. Production will be limited to just 61 units, a number chosen to honour the Team Goh McLaren F1 GTR that carried the same race number and secured the Drivers’ Championship in the 1996 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.
The 750S JC96 stands out not only for its rarity but also for its bespoke engineering and design features. For the first time, Japanese customers can specify the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK) on a 750S Spider. This aerodynamics package, featuring a reworked front bumper with a dual-element splitter, a raised active rear wing and a louvred under-wing panel, delivers up to 10% more downforce and enhances track performance.
The exterior styling draws directly from the iconic Team Goh F1 GTR “Tiger Stripe” livery. Customers can select hand-painted details on the splitter, mirrors and wing endplates in Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White or Graphite Grey. For the most exclusive touch, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) offers the full JC96 Tribute Livery – a hand-painted finish limited to just four cars.
Inside, the cockpit channels a race-inspired atmosphere. Three Alcantara upholstery options, gold-finished pedals and switches, a JC96 dedication plaque and bespoke embroidery on the headrests give the interior a uniquely personal character. MSO also offers the Interior Livery Theme Pack, bespoke wheel centre caps, custom-painted keys and a titanium Track Record Plaque mounted in the front luggage compartment.
Under the skin, the JC96 retains the core specification of the 750S: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 750PS, capable of 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 332 km/h. Its carbon fibre Monocage II structure and Proactive Chassis Control III suspension ensure exceptional agility and precision on road and track.
McLaren has not disclosed pricing or delivery dates, adding to the car’s exclusivity. No appearances at international motor shows have been announced, suggesting the 750S JC96 is aimed squarely at collectors and enthusiasts in Japan.
