2026 Mazda CX-50 gets Meridian Edition for 2.5 S, new white interior, black emblems
Mazda updates 2026 CX-50 with new Meridian Edition for 2.5 S, white interior option, black emblems, plus pricing from $29,900 and expanded safety and tech features.
Mazda has unveiled the refreshed 2026 CX-50 lineup, emphasizing personalization and an even stronger outdoor focus. Announced on September 16, 2025, the update brings fresh trims, interior options, and design touches, with vehicles arriving at dealerships later this month.
The headline change is the introduction of the CX-50 2.5 S Meridian Edition, which for the first time is available with the naturally aspirated 2.5L engine. It comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, black roof rails, exclusive gloss black Mazda emblems and badges, and a black half-leather interior. Customers can now also choose the new White Interior Option, available on multiple trims including Premium and Turbo Premium Plus.
The powertrain lineup remains diverse: the 2.5 S delivers 187 hp, the hybrid model produces 219 hp with an EPA-estimated 38 mpg combined and a 551-mile driving range, and the turbocharged versions offer up to 256 hp and 3,500 lbs of towing capacity when properly equipped.
Pricing starts at $29,900 for the CX-50 2.5 S Select and goes up to $42,900 for the range-topping 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus (excluding destination and fees). Premium paints cost $595, while the White Interior Option adds $200.
Sales data highlights the growing popularity of the CX-50: 25,384 units sold in 2022, 44,595 in 2023, and a jump to 73,358 units in 2024, making it one of Mazda’s strongest performers in the U.S. The upward trend continues into 2025, reinforcing confidence in the updated model’s success.
Early expert impressions are beginning to appear. Edmunds rates the 2026 CX-50 at 7.4/10, praising its sharp handling and styling but noting its slightly higher price point versus rivals. Industry observers emphasize that the CX-50 continues to target outdoor enthusiasts, complementing the CX-5, which caters to a more urban-focused audience.
Built at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant in Alabama, with an annual capacity of up to 300,000 vehicles, the CX-50 remains central to Mazda’s North American strategy. Given its steady sales momentum and the brand’s marketing focus on active lifestyles, analysts expect the 2026 CX-50 to be a strong contender in the competitive crossover segment.
