Peugeot 3008 reaches 200,000 units produced at Sochaux
Peugeot celebrates the 200,000th 3008 produced at the Sochaux plant with CEO Alain Favey. The SUV’s success is driven by design and electric innovation.
Peugeot marked an important milestone on September 24, 2025, when the 200,000th unit of the new 3008 rolled off the production line at the historic Sochaux plant. The event, attended by CEO Alain Favey and plant director Manuel Gentile, highlighted not only the symbolic value of the achievement but also the strategic role of the 3008 within Stellantis’ plans.
Launched in September 2023, the third generation of the 3008 became the first Peugeot model built on the STLA Medium multi-energy platform. This flexible architecture allows the brand to offer a complete portfolio of powertrains: a 145 hp hybrid, a 195 hp plug-in hybrid, and three fully electric variants. The highlight is the E-3008 Long Range with 230 hp and a record-breaking WLTP range of up to 700 km, setting a new standard in the SUV market.
Demand has been strong. Electric versions account for 22% of sales—above the segment average—while the GT trim has attracted more than half of buyers. By January 2025, orders for the E-3008 exceeded 100,000 units, underlining the growing confidence of customers in Peugeot’s electrified lineup.
Design remains one of the key strengths of the model. With its fastback silhouette, distinctive “lion claw” lighting signature, and dynamic roofline, the 3008 stands out on the road. Inside, the Panoramic i-Cockpit with a wide display and compact steering wheel creates a futuristic cockpit-like feel. Quality materials, smart storage solutions, and attention to detail reinforce Peugeot’s premium positioning while ensuring everyday practicality.
Equally significant is the industrial dimension. The Sochaux plant, employing 6,500 people across 2.5 shifts, assembles all variants of the 3008 on a single, highly adaptable line. This flexibility allows Peugeot to swiftly adjust production volumes across electric, hybrid, and internal combustion models in response to market demand.
Customers also benefit from the Peugeot Care Warranty, which offers up to eight years or 160,000 kilometers of coverage when servicing within the official network. This initiative underscores the brand’s commitment to long-term reliability and customer peace of mind.
Ultimately, the Peugeot 3008 represents more than just a successful SUV. It is a symbol of transition, blending French design flair, cutting-edge technology, and industrial heritage. For Stellantis, it serves as a cornerstone in the quest to strengthen its position in Europe’s mainstream electric vehicle market in the years ahead.
