The Arcfox Alpha T5 is the latest electric crossover from BAIC’s sub-brand, designed to strike a balance between near-premium quality and affordability. Its modern styling immediately stands out, with boomerang-shaped LED headlights, flush door handles, a subtle rear spoiler, and striking 19- or 20-inch wheels. An aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.245 brings it close to sports car efficiency.

The car was engineered with durability and comfort in mind. Its body is made entirely of aluminum, a feature that not only reduces weight but also improves resistance to harsh winter conditions. A full winter package includes heated seats for both rows and dedicated driving modes for slippery roads.

Inside, the Alpha T5 combines minimalism with advanced technology. At the center sits a 15.6-inch display powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip, enabling smooth voice control. There is no separate instrument cluster, but higher trims feature a large 22.8-inch head-up display projected onto the windshield. Artificial leather upholstery, a panoramic roof that blocks heat and sunlight, and customizable ambient lighting contribute to the upscale feel.

Everyday usability is boosted by clever details: wireless phone charging, cup holders, extra storage compartments, rear passenger air conditioning, USB ports, and even fragrance cartridges with adjustable intensity. The trunk holds 400 liters of cargo, expanding to 1,546 liters with the rear seats folded.

Performance is equally versatile. Buyers can choose between 65 kWh and 79.2 kWh batteries, offering ranges of 520 km and 660 km on the CLTC cycle. The electric motor produces up to 272 hp, reaching 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. In its top configuration, the car supports 800-volt charging, adding 260 km of range in just ten minutes.

On the road, the Alpha T5 feels light and confident, with smooth handling and a quiet ride. A 360-degree parking camera system and advanced driver assistance features add comfort in urban traffic. Multiple drive modes are available, including One Pedal, Sport, Eco+, and special settings for snowy conditions.

Pricing positions the model competitively: the base version starts at 155,800 yuan (around $22,000), while the fully equipped 660Max costs 199,800 yuan ($28,000). With its mix of technology, practicality, and value, the Arcfox Alpha T5 has every chance to become a bestseller, challenging rivals like BYD in the growing EV market.
