Great Wall Motor unveiled the 2026 Haval Raptor PHEV with Hi4 hybrid system, new exterior, improved interior, 200 km EV range, and price from 170,000 yuan.

The 2026 Haval Raptor has arrived with a fresh look and a powerful hybrid heart, standing out as one of the boldest SUV launches of the year in China. While it keeps its rugged character, the model introduces a wide range of upgrades — from exterior styling to advanced technology — appealing not only to off-road enthusiasts but also to drivers seeking a versatile everyday vehicle.

Design and exterior updates are immediately noticeable. The traditional round headlights have been replaced with rectangular clusters, each featuring 123 LEDs, while the rear now boasts solid light blocks made of 300 diodes. A glowing horizontal strip on the grille distinguishes the hybrid version. Wider wheel arches (+30 mm) add to its muscular stance, and the spare wheel now carries the GWM logo instead of HAVAL. Dimensions remain unchanged: 4.8 m long, 1.95 m wide, 1.84 m high, with an impressive ground clearance of 221 mm. The Raptor retains its robust SUV presence both on highways and rough terrain.

Inside the cabin, the SUV balances practicality with modern features. A two-spoke steering wheel with a flat-bottom rim, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 14.6-inch infotainment screen running Coffee OS 3 create a tech-forward environment. The gear selector has been moved to the steering column, freeing up the center console where a neat rotary knob for drive modes now sits. Convenience is boosted by 20 physical buttons, height-adjustable cup holders, a 50W wireless charger, a projection display, a 360-degree camera system with a “transparent hood” view, and even a small refrigerator in the console. Storage is plentiful, with more than 40 compartments, while luggage capacity ranges from 586 liters to 1,404 liters with rear seats folded.

The powertrain is the main highlight. The second-generation Hi4 hybrid setup combines a 1.5-liter turbo engine with dual electric motors to deliver between 443 and 450 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Despite weighing over two tons, the Raptor sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 190 km/h. Battery options vary: the top-tier 35.4 kWh pack provides up to 200 km of electric range (151 km WLTC), while smaller 18.7 and 27.5 kWh units offer 102 and 145 km respectively. With a fully charged battery and a full 55-liter fuel tank, the combined driving range surpasses 1,000 km, while fuel consumption remains as low as 5 liters per 100 km.

Safety and off-road technology have not been overlooked. The model comes with an electronically controlled rear differential lock and nine driving modes, from Sport and Eco to dedicated settings for snow, mud, sand, and gravel. The upgraded driver assistance package includes 12 ultrasonic sensors, seven cameras, and a millimeter-wave radar, enabling functions like NOA (Navigation on Autopilot), automatic parking, and even remote parking control.

Conclusion: The 2026 Haval Raptor is more than just a facelift — it’s a leap forward. By blending the aura of a classic SUV with hybrid efficiency and modern comfort, it positions itself as a strong contender in the growing market for rugged crossovers. Official sales begin on August 19 in China, with pricing expected to stay in the range of 170,000 yuan (about $23,000–27,000).
