All-New Chery QQ EV: Compact Electric Car with Space and Style
Chery revealed the redesigned QQ EV at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, featuring a spacious interior, youthful design, and advanced technology for urban driving.
At the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, Chery officially unveiled the latest generation of its iconic city car, the QQ. The once-modest model has now been completely reimagined as a fully electric vehicle, with mass production scheduled for the first half of 2026.
Design and proportions make the new QQ stand out among compact EVs. The 2750 mm wheelbase is a remarkable figure for such a small car, providing cabin space that surpasses even larger rivals like the BYD Dolphin. The exterior embraces a playful, youthful spirit: the front end forms a “smile” framed by round LED headlights, while the central Q badge reinforces its fresh identity. Two-tone paintwork with an additional side accent gives the car extra character, and puzzle-like wheels and handles add to the quirky personality.
Inside, the QQ takes inspiration from cyberpunk aesthetics. The cabin is dominated by a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen paired with an advanced AI processing unit capable of 128 TOPS, ensuring instant responsiveness for infotainment and connectivity. Ambient lighting with 256 customizable colors creates a personal atmosphere, while a 50W wireless charger and 540-degree surround-view cameras enhance daily usability. Virtual underbody imaging makes parking and low-speed maneuvers easier than ever.
The list of intelligent driving features includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane keeping assistance, and traffic jam support. Sculpted seats combine artistic design with real ergonomic comfort, moving far beyond what’s expected in a typical compact car.
Chery has yet to disclose specific details of the powertrain—battery size, motor output, and official range remain unknown. However, given the level of onboard technology, industry watchers expect a real-world range of more than 300 kilometers, which should be sufficient for everyday urban use.
Ultimately, the all-new QQ represents more than just the return of a familiar nameplate. It signals Chery’s ambition to redefine smart urban mobility: compact yet comfortable, playful yet practical, stylish yet innovative. For young drivers and city dwellers, it could well become one of the most appealing electric options in the segment.
