Opel Combo Electric: spacious electric van for families and pets
Opel Combo Electric celebrates 40 years with a new all-electric version offering up to 344 km range, space for seven passengers and dogs, and Stellantis “Electric All In” services.
Opel marked World Dog Day not with words but with wheels — introducing the new Combo Electric, an all-electric family van built for road trips with pets. Published on October 1, 2025, the announcement also celebrated 40 years since the first Opel Combo debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The latest version continues the model’s legacy of practicality while reflecting Opel’s full transition toward zero-emission mobility.
The Combo Electric is designed for families — and their four-legged companions. The standard 4.41-meter version offers space for five people and several dogs, while the extended XL model (4.76 meters) can seat up to seven and provides an impressive 4,000-liter cargo capacity. Its low 59-centimeter loading sill allows pets to hop in easily, and the rear can be turned into a shaded play area during stops.
The 50 kWh battery (52 kWh in the UK variant) delivers up to 344 km of WLTP range and charges from 0 to 80% in about 30 minutes at a 100 kW fast-charging station. Opel’s “Electric All In” program includes a home eProWallbox Move, e-Routes trip planning, an eight-year battery warranty, and free roadside and mobile charging assistance up to three times a year.
Comfort and safety come from 18 driver-assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go and the glare-free Intelli-Lux Matrix LED lights. The optional panoramic roof with an electric sunshade adds brightness, while 27 storage compartments totaling 186 liters provide room for travel gear or dog treats.
The Combo Electric is produced at Stellantis’s Zaragoza plant in Spain, where a new 50 GWh LFP battery gigafactory is being developed with CATL. The model is already available to order across major European markets — including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Benelux, and the UK (as Vauxhall Combo Electric) — priced from €38,600 in Germany and £33,000 in Britain.
By combining generous space, modern technology, and a commitment to electric mobility, the new Opel Combo Electric shows how practical family transport can evolve with the times — carrying both people and pets into a cleaner, quieter future.
