BMW Art Car World Tour stops in Belgium
BMW Art Car World Tour arrives at Zoute Grand Prix 2025, showcasing ten iconic rolling sculptures by renowned artists including Julie Mehretu, Andy Warhol and Alexander Calder.
The BMW Art Car World Tour arrived in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, bringing the iconic “rolling sculptures” to the Zoute Grand Prix 2025. From 8 to 12 October, visitors can admire ten of the most celebrated BMW Art Cars, each transformed by world-renowned artists over the past five decades.
The global tour, which began in New York, continued through Pebble Beach and Istanbul, and now reaches Belgium, embodies a dialogue between culture and engineering. At the Zoute Grand Prix, it bridges the grace of classic automobiles with the bold language of contemporary art.
Among the highlights is Julie Mehretu’s BMW M Hybrid V8, unveiled at the Centre Pompidou and raced at Le Mans 2024, alongside creations by Alexander Calder, Andy Warhol, Frank Stella, Robert Rauschenberg, and other masters. Rauschenberg’s presence carries special meaning this year as 2025 marks the centenary of his birth. The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation’s “Rauschenberg 100” programme features exhibitions in New York, Paris, and beyond.
The Zoute Grand Prix stands as one of Europe’s most prestigious automotive gatherings, where collectors, designers, and enthusiasts come together to celebrate heritage and innovation. With the inclusion of the BMW Art Cars, the event becomes a stage for the intersection of history and modern expression.
Following Belgium, the collection will travel to London for Frieze London (15–19 October), where David Hockney’s Art Car will be showcased. The tour will continue into 2026, spanning continents and reaffirming the BMW Art Car’s status as a bridge between art, movement, and time.
