Opel launches Grandland Electric Long Range SUV with up to 694 km WLTP range, built on STLA Medium platform and produced in Eisenach, Germany.

Opel has opened the order books for the new Grandland Electric Long Range, marking the debut of the brand’s most capable battery-powered SUV yet. With a 97 kWh battery, the model delivers a range of up to 694 kilometres under the WLTP cycle, setting a new benchmark within the Grandland line.

In Germany, prices start at €51,750 including VAT. The single electric motor produces 170 kW (231 hp) and 345 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. Fast charging to 80 percent takes about 27 minutes.

The Grandland Electric Long Range is built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, which also underpins the Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008 and will support several other models by 2026. Designed for batteries up to 98 kWh without sacrificing cabin or cargo space, the platform provides a solid foundation for long-distance comfort and efficiency.

Production takes place exclusively at Opel’s Eisenach plant in Germany, where Stellantis has invested more than €130 million to prepare the facility for electric vehicle manufacturing. The site now plays a key role in the company’s European electrification strategy.

Even the entry-level Edition trim includes ergonomic Intelli-Seats, Frequency Selective Damping suspension, and a 10-inch multimedia display. Higher trims add advanced features such as Intelli-Lux HD matrix headlights, a 360-degree Intelli-Vision system, and a 16-inch navigation touchscreen.

Like other Opel EVs, the Grandland Electric Long Range comes with the “Electric All In” package. It includes an eProWallbox Move home charger, Opel Connect Plus digital services, and eight years of roadside and mobile charging assistance. The offer is valid in Germany until the end of 2025 and aims to make the switch to electric mobility simpler for new adopters.

The Grandland Electric Long Range strengthens Opel’s position in the mid-size electric SUV segment and demonstrates that driving range is no longer the weak point of battery-powered cars.
