Bentley and Steinway celebrate craftsmanship in Hamburg collaboration
Bentley and Steinway & Sons present a unique collaboration in Hamburg — combining automotive and musical artistry through the Flying Spur Speed and limited Steinway pianos.
In Hamburg, two names long associated with craftsmanship came together in harmony. Bentley Motors and Steinway & Sons unveiled a collaboration that blends automotive and musical artistry. Inside the historic Steinway factory, the Bentley Flying Spur Speed equipped with the Ultra Performance Hybrid V8 made its debut, presented in Arctic White with a Piano Black interior. Its refined contrast mirrors Steinway’s new limited pianos — the Ultra Black and Ultra White editions.
The interplay of black and white, cherished by clients of both brands, serves as a visual metaphor for balance and restraint. Only fifty-two pianos will be produced in total: eighteen Model B Concert Grands and eight Model D Concert Grands in each color version, all hand-built in Hamburg. Each instrument requires roughly a year to complete, continuing Steinway’s legacy of precision and dedication.
The partnership between Bentley and Steinway extends beyond design. Engineers from both sides exchanged expertise in woodworking and veneering — disciplines where precision and sensitivity to material define excellence. This transfer of knowledge underpins a project that connects motion and music, showing how craftsmanship and innovation can coexist in perfect rhythm.
Following its debut in Hamburg, the monochrome trio — the Flying Spur Speed and the two Steinway editions — will embark on a European tour, accompanied by a series of concerts for audiences who appreciate artistry in every form.
Wayne Bruce of Bentley and Guido Zimmermann of Steinway described the collaboration as a meeting of tradition and vision, reflecting a shared belief that true luxury lies in purity and craftsmanship rather than excess.
