Efficient and secure fleet management with Mercedes-Benz Fleet Pilot
Mercedes-Benz introduces Fleet Pilot, a web-based platform offering real-time data, tracking, and analytics for fleet management. The portal supports multi-brand fleets without retrofit.
Mercedes-Benz has launched a new digital platform for corporate customers called Fleet Pilot, bringing together fleet management, telematics data, and analytics in one system. It is the first solution from a car manufacturer that can also manage vehicles of other brands without requiring any hardware retrofit.
The web-based Fleet Pilot platform gives fleet managers real-time insight into vehicle status, routes, maintenance alerts, and efficiency data. Services such as Tracking & Geofencing, Trip List, Vehicle Status, and Efficiency & Trends provide full transparency and help identify opportunities to reduce costs. Interactive dashboards and reports make it easier to monitor and optimize daily operations.
The new portal replaces the previous connect business system. Existing customers were migrated free of charge, while new users can test Fleet Pilot until the end of the following month after registration. The platform is already available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the Netherlands, with further European expansion planned.
Because Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with the necessary communication modules ex factory, no retrofit is needed. Fleet Pilot also supports mixed-brand fleets, allowing seamless integration across manufacturers. Users simply create a Mercedes-Benz ID and a company profile to connect their fleet and assign access permissions.
Data protection is a central focus. All information is encrypted and transmitted via a crash-proof SIM card installed in each vehicle, while external audits ensure system integrity. Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that customers remain in control of what data is collected and for what purpose.
The company continues to expand Fleet Pilot’s capabilities, preparing integrations such as the Van Uptime Monitor and online service booking. These steps reinforce Mercedes-Benz’s broader strategy to build a connected digital ecosystem, where vehicles act as active components of intelligent, data-driven business operations.
