The 2026 Genesis GV70 earns top Luxury and Compact SUV titles at the 2025 Texas Truck Rodeo, praised for its design, performance, and advanced technology.

The 2026 Genesis GV70 has reinforced the brand’s growing presence in the luxury SUV market, taking home dual honors at the 2025 Texas Truck Rodeo organized by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). The model was named both Best Luxury SUV and Best Compact SUV, outperforming competitors such as the Lexus LX and Honda CR-V TrailSport.

The event took place at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas, where over forty TAWA members evaluated 28 vehicles for design, performance, comfort, and overall appeal. The GV70 earned top marks for its build quality, steering response, and cabin technology. Judges described it simply as “Well Done” in the Luxury SUV category and “Always a class act” among Compact SUVs.

For the 2026 model year, Genesis has refined the GV70 with a panoramic 27-inch OLED display that merges the instrument cluster and infotainment system, enhanced voice control, and improved over-the-air updates. Powertrain options remain familiar: a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 300 horsepower and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 delivering 375 horsepower, both paired with all-wheel drive.

Genesis continues to strengthen its reputation in the American South, with the GV70 remaining its best-selling model nationwide. This recognition from TAWA adds to the brand’s ongoing success across Texas, a key market for luxury SUVs.

Looking ahead, the 2026 GV70 will compete for the coveted “SUV of Texas” title, to be announced at the Houston Auto Show in January 2026. If recent trends hold, Genesis could further cement its reputation for blending Korean craftsmanship with advanced technology and refined driving dynamics.
