The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee gains the all-new 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo engine, updated tech, refined design, and simplified trims for greater performance and efficiency.

The updated 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee marks a new chapter for the legendary SUV. For the first time, it features the Hurricane 4 Turbo — a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. This unit debuts the industry’s first high-volume application of Turbulent Jet Ignition (TJI), a system that ignites fuel in a small pre-chamber, sending jets of flame into the main combustion chamber for a faster and cleaner burn. The result is better fuel economy and lower emissions without sacrificing power.

Beyond the new powertrain, the Grand Cherokee gains a redesigned infotainment setup with a 12.3-inch central screen, an additional 10.25-inch passenger display, and a premium McIntosh audio system featuring 19 speakers. Built on the Uconnect 5 platform, it supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while advanced driver-assist technologies include Active Driving Assist and a 360-degree camera system.

Designers refreshed the SUV’s exterior with a revised grille, new headlight design, and three new paint finishes — Steel Blue, Copper Shino, and Fathom Blue. The lineup is now streamlined to three trims: Laredo, Limited, and Summit. The Limited trim can be equipped with the Reserve or Altitude packages, adding leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and expanded safety options.

Production of the Grand Cherokee takes place at Stellantis’ Detroit Assembly Complex, while the new Hurricane 4 Turbo engine is built in Dundee, Michigan. Sales are expected to begin in late 2025. Alongside the gasoline variant, Jeep continues to offer the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid, rated at 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque — a model that remains central to the brand’s electrification strategy, especially in the European market.
