At Agritechnica 2025, MAN Engines unveils updated D4276 and D2676 diesel engines, the new E3872 gas unit, and the MAN BatteryPack — all focused on efficiency and sustainability.

MAN Engines arrives at Agritechnica 2025 with a comprehensive portfolio of updates, highlighting its vision of merging performance with sustainability. The company’s latest developments demonstrate how innovation can shape the next generation of agricultural machinery.

The spotlight falls on the upgraded D4276 and D2676 diesel engines. The D4276 now features a new control unit and optimized turbine geometries, resulting in improved combustion and fuel savings of up to three percent. The D2676, redesigned with a new crankshaft, combustion system, and injection layout, reaches 404 kW (549 hp) while cutting consumption by around seven percent. Both engines meet ISO 26262 functional safety standards and are prepared for future alternative fuels.

Another major exhibit is the MAN E3872 gas engine, in series production since 2024. With an electrical efficiency of up to 44.4 percent on natural gas and 43.5 percent on biogas, it meets the German government’s biomass package criteria and supports combined heat and power generation with lower emissions.

The company also emphasizes its progress in energy storage. Produced at the Nuremberg site, the MAN BatteryPack forms part of MAN’s large-scale investment in advanced technologies. Using NMC cell chemistry and an intelligent BMS with about 400 end-of-line test parameters, the system delivers high performance and durability for mobile and industrial use.

Completing the exhibit is the MAN TGS 18.540 4×4 BL SA, a truck tailored for agricultural applications. With permanent all-wheel drive, load-sensing hydraulics, and SmartSelect control, it operates seamlessly between field and road. Certified as an LOF vehicle, it benefits from agricultural exemptions, while the LION S package adds both utility and design highlights.

At Agritechnica 2025, MAN Engines presents a holistic approach to sustainable agriculture: from efficient combustion and gas engines to electrification and remanufacturing. The company’s display illustrates how proven mechanical strength can evolve toward a cleaner, more adaptive future for farming worldwide.
