Nissan Re:Nissan plan and EV lineup redefine mobility in Japan
Nissan unveils the Re:Nissan plan with new Elgrand, Patrol, and Ariya to boost Japan’s EV market. Discover how these models blend heritage, technology, and sustainable mobility.
At the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Nissan unveiled a renewed lineup and a clear strategic vision aimed at revitalizing its domestic market and strengthening its leadership in the age of electrification. The Re:Nissan program lies at the core of this approach, targeting ¥500 billion in cost reductions, the consolidation of plants from 17 to 10 by 2027, and a refreshed range focused on intelligent technologies and sustainability.
The show highlighted three major models: the fourth-generation Elgrand, the returning Patrol SUV, and an updated Ariya crossover. Together, they illustrate Nissan’s effort to blend innovation with cultural heritage and redefine comfort standards for Japanese drivers.
The all-new Elgrand, scheduled for the 2026 fiscal year, adopts Nissan’s third-generation e-POWER hybrid system and the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive technology, promising smoother acceleration, quieter operation, and exceptional stability. While detailed specifications remain undisclosed, the model is designed to deliver a premium experience suited for family journeys.
The legendary Patrol, returning to Japan for the first time in two decades, is set to become the brand’s flagship SUV. Its arrival in the first half of fiscal 2027 marks Nissan’s comeback to a segment it had long left behind.
The refreshed Ariya brings a more refined exterior, Google-powered infotainment, Vehicle-to-Load functionality, and upgraded suspension. These updates reflect Nissan’s focus on creating connected, intelligent, and sustainable mobility solutions.
Together, these initiatives embody the spirit of Re:Nissan — a plan not only to improve profitability but also to reshape the company’s vision of movement itself, making it more technological, emotionally engaging, and environmentally conscious.
