Citroën and Rip Curl unveil the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision in Hossegor, blending electric mobility with surf culture and sustainable design for young adventurers.

Citroën and Rip Curl have renewed their long-standing collaboration with the debut of the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision — an electric microcar that embodies freedom, creativity, and the spirit of adventure. The concept will be unveiled in Hossegor during the Rip Curl GromSearch finals, taking place from November 4 to 8, 2025.

The partnership between the two brands began in 2016 with the C4 Cactus Rip Curl and has since evolved through special editions of the C4 Picasso, SpaceTourer, C3 Aircross, and Berlingo. This new project continues the story, highlighting the shared values of movement, simplicity, and exploration.

Aimed at younger drivers, the Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision reflects Citroën’s mission to make electric mobility accessible. In France, vehicles like the Ami can be driven from the age of 14, which perfectly matches the youthful energy of the GromSearch competition. During the event, Citroën will provide a fleet of vehicles for participants and offer test drives of both Ami and Ami Buggy models.

Visually, the concept features a vibrant purple body contrasted by a white roof and black canvas top, with distinctive white stickers and a roof-mounted LED light bar. The interior includes Rip Curl-inspired cushions and several surf-oriented accessories — such as a portable shower, floor mats made from recycled wetsuits, waterproof storage, and board mounts.

The collaboration also underlines the brands’ commitment to sustainability. Rip Curl’s long-term wetsuit recycling program with TerraCycle finds new life here, while Citroën continues to expand its lineup of electric and hybrid vehicles, making eco-friendly mobility attainable for a wider audience.

The Ami Buggy Rip Curl Vision is more than a concept; it’s a statement about lifestyle. It connects electric urban mobility with a culture of outdoor adventure — a symbol of how design, freedom, and sustainability can coexist on the same wavelength.
