Polestar introduces its flagship electric GT, the Polestar 5, to Gran Turismo 7 through a collaboration with Polyphony Digital revealed in Los Angeles.

Polestar takes a confident step into the world of digital racing as its flagship model, the Polestar 5, joins Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 and 5. The debut took place during the Gran Turismo World Series in Los Angeles, where fans had their first look at the Swedish brand’s grand tourer.

In December 2025, the Polestar 5 will become part of a free game update, bringing a high-performance GT with clean Scandinavian design to the simulation. The project is the result of a close collaboration between Polestar and Polyphony Digital, the Sony studio behind the legendary franchise. Both teams shared access to their R&D facilities to ensure a precise digital recreation of the car’s form and behavior.

Real-world dynamics played a central role. Professional racer and sim driver Igor Fraga tested prototype versions of the Polestar 5 at the Brands Hatch circuit, providing data that shaped its virtual handling. According to Joakim Rydholm, Head of Driving Dynamics at Polestar, the goal was to capture the car’s genuine character — the result is a virtual model that mirrors the real vehicle’s feel with impressive fidelity.

The in-game launch will feature a dedicated Polestar Time Trial, with the winner earning a trip to Fukuoka, Japan, for the GT World Series 2025 Finals. To coincide with the event, Polestar will release a documentary on its official YouTube channel, exploring how the virtual and physical Polestar 5 came together.

The arrival of the Polestar 5 in Gran Turismo 7 is more than a promotional move — it reflects the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the digital space. As Polestar continues to refine its high-performance electric lineup, its entry into gaming underscores a vision where design precision and technological ambition meet in both real and virtual worlds.
