Discover how the Fiat Grande Panda was named Auto Europa 2026 by UIGA, with insights into the voting process and key factors behind the recognition awarded.

The Fiat Grande Panda has been awarded the title of “Auto Europa 2026,” one of Italy’s most enduring and recognizable automotive distinctions. Presented by the Italian Union of Automotive Journalists, the award is shaped through a three-part voting process that brings together journalists, a panel of around 150–160 opinion leaders, and online voters. This mix of perspectives allows technical expertise to meet the everyday preferences of drivers, adding weight to the Grande Panda’s victory.

The model stood out for its blend of Italian design cues, pragmatic character, and focus on everyday mobility. Its multi-energy approach also played a crucial role: the Grande Panda is offered in petrol, hybrid, and electric versions, aligning closely with FIAT’s mission to provide freedom of choice across different markets.

The final stage of the award took place on November 10–11, 2025 at the Bosch Italia headquarters in Milan, where seven finalists — Audi Q3, BMW X3, Dacia Bigster, Jeep Compass, Mercedes-Benz CLA, Renault 4 E-Tech Electric, and the Grande Panda — underwent their final evaluation. The outcome highlights a growing interest in vehicles that combine accessibility with modern engineering solutions.

This latest victory marks FIAT’s ninth recognition in the history of the Auto Europa Awards. Earlier winners included the Tipo, Punto, the 2004 Panda, and the fully electric 500e. In this context, the success of the Grande Panda reinforces FIAT’s longstanding values of practicality, distinctive design, and accessible mobility. Official statements from the brand describe the award as confirmation of the trust placed in FIAT by customers seeking practical and sustainable options for everyday urban travel, while also underlining the model’s role in the company’s evolving global lineup.
