BMW iX3 and M5 Touring receive top honors in German industry awards, as reported by BMW Group; learn about the achievements and the models’ strengths.

BMW strengthened its position in the German automotive landscape with an impressive series of awards across two major industry competitions. The all-electric BMW iX3 secured the Golden Steering Wheel in the “Best Innovation” category, with the jury highlighting the model as a technological benchmark for the upcoming Neue Klasse lineup. Its long WLTP range and new digital architecture made it one of the most notable premieres of the year.

The BMW M5 Touring also delivered a standout performance, winning in the “Upper/Luxury Class” category. Jury members praised the model’s combination of the powerful M Hybrid drivetrain and the practicality of the Touring body style. It outperformed competitors in driving dynamics, efficiency, and value assessments.

BMW’s success extended even further in the Auto Zeitung readers’ poll. At the Auto Trophy awards, the brand collected nine wins — a historic result surpassing previous years. Among the top performers were the BMW 1 Series, 2 Series Gran Coupé, 5 Series, the X3 and X5 SUVs, and the electric models i5, iX1, and iX3. BMW itself was voted the “World’s Best Brand,” becoming the clear favorite of the readership.

Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, noted that these achievements reaffirm the company’s strategy of offering a broad range of drivetrain options and maintaining a strong focus on technological leadership. Particularly telling is the market response to the BMW iX3: according to BMW, pre-orders have already exceeded expectations, highlighting rising interest in premium electric vehicles.

Combined, these award results reinforce BMW’s standing as one of the key players in the European automotive sector. With a renewed product portfolio and the ongoing expansion of the Neue Klasse platform, interest in the brand is likely to continue its upward trajectory based on the available facts.
