Alfa Romeo presents the 33 Stradale and updated Tonale at the 2025 LA Auto Show, highlighting key details of the models and their role in the brand’s direction.

Alfa Romeo arrived at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show with two models that currently define the brand’s direction in distinct segments: the exclusive 33 Stradale and the updated Tonale. The show, known for gathering dozens of manufacturers and thousands of visitors, became more than just a showcase for the Italian marque — it marked a moment of renewed ambition in the largest automotive market in North America.

The centerpiece was the 33 Stradale, a modern reinterpretation of the iconic 1960s model, built by hand in the spirit of historic Italian coachbuilders. Its production follows an artisanal process conducted with the participation of Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, renowned for its craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Only 33 units have been produced, all of them already sold. The car features a 630-hp twin-turbo V6, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds, and reaches a top speed of 333 km/h. In Los Angeles, it continued its North American journey after appearances at Monterey Car Week, the Petersen Automotive Museum, MACCHINISSIMA, and the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas.

Alongside it, the updated Tonale made its first U.S. appearance. The American audience was introduced to the Sport Speciale version in Rosso Brera, equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. For Alfa Romeo, this debut is a meaningful step, as the introduction of the non-PHEV Tonale aims to strengthen the brand's position in a crucial segment. In Europe, the refreshed Tonale has already launched with an expanded range of versions and a starting price of around €41,400.

The SUV now features revised styling, including a wider track, new 19- and 20-inch wheels, and a redesigned front fascia with a concave badge and updated trilobe. Inside, improvements include upgraded materials, leather and Alcantara options, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch central display. Brembo brakes, DSV electronic suspension, Level 2 driver assistance systems, and OTA-capable connectivity highlight the model’s technological capabilities.

The choice of models for the show reflects Alfa Romeo’s dual strategy in the United States. On one side stands the 33 Stradale — a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and engineering boldness. On the other is the Tonale, the model expected to play a central role in expanding the brand’s reach in the coming years. With thousands of visitors and more than 5,000 journalists expected at the event, interest in Alfa Romeo’s showcase is set to be significant.
