Genesis has been named the Best Luxury Car Brand by U.S. News & World Report, marking the company’s first win in the Luxury Vehicle Brand category and underscoring its rapid rise within the premium automotive segment. For a marque that entered the North American market less than a decade ago, the recognition reflects a steady climb in status and growing influence.

The 2026 awards assessed 39 automotive brands, with rankings based on the average overall score of each brand’s models in their respective categories. These scores draw on safety data, reliability metrics, and the consensus of the automotive press. Genesis secured its top position thanks to strong results across sedans and SUVs, including the G70, G80, G90, GV60, GV70, GV80, and GV80 Coupe. Notably, the G90 received a score of 9.6 out of 10, while the GV70 earned 9.2, helping elevate the brand to the top of its class.

According to Genesis, the brand’s success stems from its blend of refined design, advanced technologies, and a driving experience shaped by its “son-nim” philosophy—an approach inspired by Korean hospitality that treats customers as honored guests. The lineup also incorporates a suite of driver assistance systems, such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Monitor, Surround View Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Avoidance Assist, and Highway Drive Assist. Inside the cabin, features like a 27-inch OLED display, Bang & Olufsen audio, and the Digital Key system reflect the brand’s focus on thoughtful innovation.

U.S. News editors note that Genesis models “regularly upstage established luxury competitors,” citing the consistent quality and level of equipment across the lineup. Additional context from industry coverage highlights the brand’s strong performance in U.S. technology-focused studies, where Genesis has also ranked among the leaders.

The award reinforces the company’s growing role in the luxury market at a time when traditional competitors continue to dominate. With an expanding retailer network across North America and a lineup that has gained widespread acclaim, Genesis is positioned to further strengthen its foothold in the premium segment.
