Mercedes-Benz presents the electric CLA Shooting Brake with long range, fast charging and expanded practicality; learn key details and market launch insights.

The electric Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is entering the European market, bringing a new blend of practicality and premium electric engineering to the brand. Built on the MMA platform, it follows the strong reception of the electric CLA sedan, which has already earned praise for its comfort, long range and advanced digital systems.

The Shooting Brake shifts the focus toward space and versatility. While keeping the CLA’s characteristic sporty proportions, it offers a significantly expanded luggage area that reaches up to 1,290 liters with the rear seats folded. A front storage compartment adds another 101 liters. Practical features include the standard EASY-PACK tailgate, roof rails for transporting equipment and a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kilograms on the 4MATIC version.

At launch, two electric variants are available. The rear-wheel-drive CLA 250+ Shooting Brake delivers 200 kW and uses an 85 kWh NMC battery capable of up to 768 kilometers WLTP. The CLA 350 4MATIC Shooting Brake produces 260 kW, features all-wheel drive and offers up to 743 kilometers WLTP. Both versions employ an 800-volt architecture with fast charging of up to 320 kW, allowing approximately 300–315 kilometers of range to be added in about ten minutes. German market prices start at roughly €57,000 for the 250+ and €61,600 for the 350 4MATIC, according to German-language sources.

The interior follows the digital concept of the electric CLA. The MB.OS operating system, supported by cloud connectivity, enables continuous over-the-air updates. The new MBUX interface uses the UNITY 3D engine for real-time graphics, while the Virtual Assistant operates via a Multi Agent approach that integrates technologies from both Microsoft and Google. The Shooting Brake also brings an updated multifunction steering wheel with the return of physical control elements based on customer feedback.

A new-generation panoramic roof stands out as a core feature. Its multi-layer glass uses infrared filtering and a Low-E coating to reduce heat in summer and retain warmth during winter. The optional SKY CONTROL system allows the large glass surface to switch between transparent and opaque across seven segments, while an available illuminated star pattern enhances the ambience at night.

European deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2026, as confirmed by German and international automotive publications. Independent real-world efficiency and range tests have not yet been released; existing reports rely solely on WLTP metrics. Even so, interest in the model is already significant. It enters a still very small segment of electric station wagons, where competition is only starting to form and demand for practical electric solutions continues to rise.
