Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. says DFN is launching the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan in China on Dec 8, 2025, with five trims and pricing from 99.9–129.9k RMB. Learn more.

Nissan has announced the launch of the new N6 plug-in hybrid sedan in China through its joint venture, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN). The move marks a milestone for the brand: the N6 is Nissan’s first PHEV sedan in the market and the first model built on the Tianyan Architecture, positioned as a foundation for Dongfeng Nissan’s next wave of new-energy vehicle development.

Aimed at young families, the N6 is framed as a car that blends efficiency with everyday comfort and a connected cabin experience. It pairs a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 21.1 kWh LFP battery, and Nissan quotes an EV-only range of up to 180 km. The lineup spans five grades—180 Air, 180 Pro, 180 Max, 180 Max+, and 170 Max+—priced from 99.9 to 129.9 thousand RMB. The rollout timeline is also clear: pre-sales began on November 13, 2025, with official sales set for December 8, 2025.

Design is used to push the N6 upmarket in feel. Nissan describes the exterior under its Wind Trace aesthetic, highlighting slim headlights with an adaptive high-beam system and distinctive “hurricane-eye” taillights. Buyers can choose from six body colors, including Sunlight Gold and Hyacinth Purple. The car’s proportions reinforce the family-sedan pitch: at 4,831 mm long with a 2,815 mm wheelbase, the N6 sits in the size sweet spot that remains popular with Chinese buyers.

Inside, the company leans hard into relaxation and materials, stating that soft-touch surfaces cover more than 85% of the cabin trim. The front seats feature AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion technology, while the rear is fitted with a newly developed Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion Sofa. On the tech side, Nissan points to a 15.6-inch 2.5K display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 automotive-grade chip, plus an in-car voice assistant called Xiao Ni that leverages iFlytek SPARK and DeepSeek. Features such as multi-dialect support and wireless karaoke underline how strongly the N6 is tuned to local expectations of the car as a digital living space.

Driver support is another headline area, with an “end-to-end” assistance system developed in collaboration with Momenta, intended to cover highway driving, city traffic, and parking. If this partnership delivers consistent real-world behavior at scale, it could help Nissan’s China portfolio compete on the pace of innovation the company is explicitly pursuing. Ultimately, the N6 will be judged not by feature lists alone, but by how convincingly it balances price, efficiency, and the day-to-day experience—three factors that increasingly define the PHEV sedan fight in China.
