Kia Unveils PV5, EV4, and Concept EV2: A New Chapter in Electric Vehicles
Kia presents PV5, EV4, and Concept EV2, expanding its EV lineup with commercial and passenger-focused solutions. Learn about their features, production plans, and market impact.
Kia is making bold moves in the electric vehicle market with the launch of three new models – PV5, EV4, and Concept EV2. These vehicles reflect the brand’s commitment to flexibility, innovation, and sustainability, while also solidifying Kia’s presence in both commercial and mass-market EV segments.
Kia PV5: A Game-Changer for Businesses
The highlight of the lineup is the Kia PV5, a modular electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV) built under Kia’s "Platform Beyond Vehicle" (PBV) concept. This model offers various configurations, from passenger transport to cargo van, making it an ideal solution for delivery services, corporate fleets, and mobile businesses.
PV5 is powered by an NCM battery with 71.2 kWh or 51.5 kWh, while an LFP version (43.3 kWh) will be available for the European market. With fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes and a range of up to 400 km, it offers both efficiency and convenience. Kia has also equipped the model with an advanced fleet management system, developed in collaboration with GeoTab. PV5 is set to hit the market in May 2025.
Kia EV4: The First Locally Produced Kia EV for Europe
Europe will welcome Kia’s first locally manufactured EV, the EV4 hatchback, which will be produced at the company’s Slovakian plant. The model blends minimalist yet dynamic design with features that emphasize cutting-edge technology.
Built on the E-GMP platform with a 400V system, the EV4 comes with a 150 kW electric motor and a maximum range of 630 km (WLTP). Thanks to fast charging (10% to 80% in 29 minutes), it aims to be a practical alternative to conventional hatchbacks and sedans.
Concept EV2: The Urban Electric Adventurer
The most mysterious addition to the lineup is the Concept EV2, which represents the future of compact urban EVs. While Kia has not revealed full specifications, the model is expected to focus on affordability, convenience, and innovative features. Potential highlights include a modular trunk system, interactive windows, and removable audio components, offering a highly customizable driving experience.
Kia’s New EV Vision
Kia’s latest lineup reflects the company’s long-term strategy in sustainable mobility, with the PBV concept playing a crucial role. Through PBV, Kia plans to expand its range of purpose-built vehicles for both businesses and private users. Given Europe’s increasing shift toward electrification and stricter environmental regulations, Kia aims to strengthen its market position and offer practical solutions for fleet operators and individual buyers alike.
With the first wave of these new EVs arriving in 2025, Kia’s electric future looks promising, and further PBV expansion is expected with even more customizable solutions.
