Skoda Auto Achieves Record Sales in 2024 and Strengthens Global Presence
Skoda Auto closes 2024 with record sales of 926,600 vehicles, expanding its EV lineup and strengthening its presence in Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. Learn more about its strategic growth.
Škoda Auto has wrapped up 2024 as the most successful year in its history. The company strengthened its market position in Europe, increased its market share to 5.9%, and achieved record-breaking financial results. Key drivers of this success include a well-balanced model portfolio, an expanded lineup of electric vehicles, and strong sales growth in crucial regions.
In Europe, Škoda ended the year on a high note, delivering 926,600 vehicles and securing record market shares in France, Spain, Italy, and the UK. The flagship Octavia remained a bestseller with 215,700 units sold (+12.4%). However, the biggest trend was the rapid rise of the electric lineup.
The Enyaq electric SUV became the third best-selling EV in Europe, with 79,500 units sold. Meanwhile, the newly introduced Elroq compact electric SUV gathered over 35,000 pre-orders in just a few months. With a price point comparable to the combustion-engine Karoq, it’s positioned as an attractive option for a broad customer base. Additionally, Škoda is preparing to launch two more EVs: the urban crossover Epiq and a new family SUV, reinforcing its ambitious electrification strategy.
Beyond Europe, Škoda is expanding aggressively. In India, the company introduced the Kylaq, its first subcompact model under four meters, designed specifically for the local market. Plans are also in place for local assembly of the Kodiaq, with a goal of reaching 100,000 annual sales in the region by 2026.
Southeast Asia is another strategic frontier. Vietnam will soon become a key production hub, with assembly of the Kushaq and Slavia models set to begin in Quang Ninh province. Škoda will leverage its Indian production facilities to efficiently launch operations. The brand is also expanding into Central Asia, with over 1,400 vehicles sold in Kazakhstan last year and a recently announced dealership opening in Oman.
Škoda's bold strategy highlights its adaptability and resilience in an evolving automotive landscape. Competing confidently against global players, the company is betting on innovation, geographical expansion, and appealing models for diverse customer segments. The road ahead presents new challenges, but judging by its 2024 performance, Škoda is more than ready to face them.
