Ram is extending its enhanced powertrain warranty across the entire 2026 model year, keeping a 10-year or 100,000-mile coverage in place for its trucks and vans sold in the United States and Canada. The program was originally set to expire in early January 2026, but strong customer and dealer feedback led the brand to continue the offer through the full model-year cycle.

The warranty applies to Ram’s 2026 lineup equipped with internal combustion engines, including the Ram 1500, heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 pickups, Chassis Cab models 3500 through 5500, and ProMaster vans. High-performance and off-road variants such as the Ram RHO and Ram Power Wagon are also included, while fully battery-electric vehicles are excluded.

The extended coverage is available to the original owner and applies to both retail purchases and leases, excluding fleet sales. It protects key powertrain components, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles. In practice, this represents a significant extension beyond Ram’s traditional five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty.

According to the brand, the move reflects changing realities in vehicle financing. Ram points out that nearly 80% of new truck loans now exceed five years, meaning many owners remain under financing well after standard warranty coverage ends. A longer powertrain warranty is positioned as a way to align ownership, financing terms, and long-term confidence in vehicle durability.

From a competitive standpoint, such a long powertrain warranty remains unusual in the full-size pickup segment. By extending the program through the entire 2026 model year, Ram is signaling confidence in its products while setting a higher benchmark that could influence expectations across the market if long-term financing trends continue.
