Unmodified 1998 Toyota Supra Mk4 Achieves $242,000 at Mecum
An unmodified 1998 Toyota Supra Mk4 sold for $242,000 at Mecum Kissimmee 2026, Autoblog reports. Learn why this low-mileage example stands out.
The Mecum Kissimmee 2026 auction delivered a result that immediately caught the attention of collectors and the wider market. An unmodified 1998 Toyota Supra Mk4 sold for $242,000, placing it among the most expensive road-legal, factory-spec A80 Supras ever publicly auctioned.
This example represents the final model year of the fourth-generation Supra. With just 6,080 miles on the odometer, it stands out as an exceptionally low-mileage survivor. Even more significant is its fully original condition, a rare trait for Mk4 Supras that were frequently modified or heavily tuned during their lifetimes.
Power comes from the legendary 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged 2JZ-GTE inline-six, factory rated at 320 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, a configuration long favored by enthusiasts and collectors alike. The car is also equipped with a Targa Sport Roof, which, according to the seller, has never been removed.
Finished in Super White over a black leather interior, the Supra retains its original 1990s character. Analog gauges, physical controls, and a factory audio system with cassette playback remain intact, reinforcing the car’s near time-capsule presentation.
The $242,000 sale price places this Supra among a very small group of Mk4 examples to exceed the $200,000 mark at auction. While it falls short of headline-grabbing sales such as the Fast & Furious movie car that brought $550,000 in 2021, it surpasses many other high-profile transactions involving higher-mileage or modified cars.
As pristine, low-mileage A80 Supras continue to disappear from the market, recent auction results suggest that values for untouched examples are likely to remain strong. This sale reinforces the Supra Mk4’s evolution from iconic Japanese performance car to a firmly established collector vehicle.
