Audi Sport offers iconic R18 e-tron and RS 5 DTM race cars to collectors with full support. First deliveries set for summer 2025.

Audi Sport is making motorsport history available to collectors. Under the newly launched Audi Sport racing legends project, the brand is offering original LMP and DTM prototypes from its former factory racing programs for sale — in drivable and meticulously restored condition.

At a private event in Neuburg an der Donau on April 2, two remarkable vehicles were unveiled: chassis no. 207 of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro and no. 107 of the Audi RS 5 DTM. The R18, driven by Romain Dumas, Loïc Duval, and Marc Gené, claimed victory at the 2012 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The RS 5 DTM won the final race of the 2015 season at Hockenheim with Timo Scheider behind the wheel.

These machines are being rebuilt using original parts and overseen by some of the same engineers who developed them. Audi Sport emphasizes that buyers are acquiring more than vehicles — they’re stepping into a defining era of Audi's motorsport legacy.

The first customer handover is expected in summer 2025. Ownership comes with comprehensive support: regular inspections, repairs, spare parts supply, and expert advice from former developers. Audi Sport also provides event support.

The project will appear at three major events in 2025: Jim Clark Revival (May 9–11, Germany), Le Mans Classic (July 3–6, France), and the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 10–13, UK), strengthening ties with classic car enthusiasts.

Within the Audi Tradition program, historic vehicles like these participate in renowned rallies and exhibitions. The Audi Tradition app offers additional insights and features such as engine sounds and 3D explorations of the cars.

According to market analysts, demand for post-2000 racing prototypes continues to grow. Still, experts advise caution — classic car investments require significant upkeep and informed decisions.
