Autoblog reports Nissan is recalling 4,655 2026 Rogue SUVs over an incorrect spare tire that violates federal safety rules. Learn what owners should check.

Nissan has announced a recall of 4,655 model-year 2026 Rogue crossovers due to an issue involving the temporary spare tire that places the vehicles out of compliance with U.S. federal safety regulations.

The problem centers on the spare wheel assembly, which may not match the size and inflation pressure information listed on the vehicle’s tire placard. According to safety authorities, this mismatch violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, which governs tire selection and rim specifications.

While no crashes or injuries have been reported, regulators warn that incorrect pressure information could lead drivers to improperly inflate the spare tire, increasing the risk of a loss of control. The affected vehicles were built during a short production window between October 12 and October 27, 2025.

Nissan says the issue was discovered during an internal review of production data, prompting the automaker to initiate the recall. Owners of affected vehicles will be notified beginning February 13, 2026, and dealers will inspect the spare tire and replace it if necessary at no cost.

Although the recall is limited in scope, it highlights how even secondary components such as temporary spare tires can have safety implications if they fall outside regulatory requirements. Similar cases in recent years have shown that tire-related compliance remains a sensitive area for manufacturers, even when no incidents have yet occurred.
