Opel has presented the Grandland Electric AWD, its first electric model with all-wheel drive, combining dual motors, adaptive chassis technology and up to 502 km WLTP range.

Opel has unveiled the Grandland Electric AWD, marking the brand’s first fully electric model equipped with all-wheel drive. The new version is positioned as a confident companion for challenging conditions, with a particular focus on winter driving, slippery surfaces and long mountain routes.

The Grandland Electric AWD is built around a dual-motor layout. A 157 kW electric motor on the front axle is complemented by an additional 83 kW motor at the rear, delivering a combined system output of 239 kW (325 hp) and a maximum torque of 509 Nm. This configuration allows power to be distributed between all four wheels depending on the selected driving mode.

A central technical feature is the standard chassis with frequency selective damping. The system automatically adjusts damper characteristics according to road conditions and driving style, balancing comfort on uneven surfaces with stability during braking, cornering and high-speed driving. Opel further underlines its driving character through specific tuning of springs, anti-roll bars, steering and electronic stability control.

Four driving modes tailor the vehicle to different scenarios. In 4WD mode, both electric motors operate continuously, ensuring maximum traction on snow, ice and slippery roads. Normal, Sport and Eco modes vary motor prioritisation, throttle response and steering behaviour, allowing the Grandland Electric AWD to switch between efficiency, dynamic performance and everyday usability.

Beyond winter capability, the electric SUV is designed for daily use and longer journeys. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and achieves a drag coefficient of 0.278, making it the most aerodynamically efficient Grandland variant to date. With a usable 73 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Grandland Electric AWD offers a range of up to 502 kilometres (WLTP), while fast charging enables a 20 to 80 percent recharge in under 30 minutes.

Visibility in dark conditions is enhanced by the available Intelli-Lux HD adaptive matrix headlights, which precisely illuminate the road without dazzling other road users. In Germany, the Opel Grandland Electric AWD is offered at a recommended retail price starting from €51,750, including VAT.
