Mazda North American Operations has announced pricing and packaging for the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata in the United States, reaffirming the model’s long-standing focus on lightweight design and a pure, driver-centered experience. The latest model year brings targeted refinements rather than fundamental changes, keeping the roadster closely aligned with its original philosophy.

All 2026 MX-5 Miata variants continue to be powered by the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine, producing 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, with a 7,500-rpm redline. A six-speed manual transmission remains central to the lineup: Sport and Club models are offered exclusively with a manual gearbox, while the Grand Touring trim is also available with a six-speed automatic and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

For the 2026 model year, Mazda’s updates focus primarily on interior refinement, following the brand’s kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement. Every MX-5 Miata now features an 8.8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with Alexa Built-in integration. The entry-level Sport model combines these updates with leather-wrapped touchpoints, cloth seats, and a comprehensive suite of i-Activsense safety technologies.

The Club trim is aimed squarely at driving enthusiasts. It adds Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace, an induction sound enhancer, and an asymmetric limited-slip differential. A notable feature is DSC-Track mode, which recalibrates the stability control system to allow greater driver involvement under spirited driving conditions. Visual upgrades and additional interior equipment, including a Bose audio system and wireless smartphone connectivity, further distinguish the Club from the Sport model.

For those seeking a more focused setup, the available Brembo BBS Recaro Package enhances the MX-5 Miata Club with Brembo front brakes, forged 17-inch BBS wheels, and heated Recaro sport seats. For 2026, the package also introduces black Alcantara interior trim with contrast stitching. This package is optional on soft-top Club models and comes standard on the MX-5 Miata RF Club.

The RF, or Retractable Fastback, features a power-operated hard roof that opens or closes in approximately 13 seconds, offering a blend of coupe-like refinement and open-top character. Meanwhile, the Grand Touring trim builds on the Club’s performance hardware while adding comfort-oriented features and additional driver-assistance technologies, depending on transmission choice.

Pricing for the 2026 Mazda MX-5 Miata starts at $30,430 for the Sport 6MT. Depending on configuration, prices rise to $41,900 for the MX-5 Miata RF Club. Compared with the previous model year, most trims see an increase of about $1,100, while the Brembo BBS Recaro Package rises by $150.

By maintaining its core mechanical formula and refining details year by year, Mazda continues to position the MX-5 Miata as a benchmark lightweight roadster. The measured nature of the 2026 updates suggests the model will keep evolving incrementally, preserving the qualities that have defined it for decades.
