Bentley and FAT International Begin Partnership at Ice Race
Reported by Bentley, it begins a multi-year partnership with FAT International at the Ice Race, debuting models and the Bentayga X Concept. Learn more.
Bentley has officially launched a multi-year partnership with FAT International, choosing the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, as the starting point. Rather than a conventional brand appearance, the event became a statement of how Bentley intends to position itself within contemporary car culture.
On and around the ice track, Bentley showcased several key directions of its current strategy. The global debuts of the new Continental GT S and GTC S formed the backbone of the presentation. The Continental GT S appeared dynamically on the ice, driven by French racing driver Laura Villars, while its convertible counterpart was displayed alongside it. Together, the models highlighted an expanded Continental range aimed at blending everyday refinement with a more driver-focused character.
One of the most eye-catching moments came from the Skijöring competition, where a Bentayga Speed was driven by automotive journalist and broadcaster Chris Harris while towing Norwegian freestyle skier and Olympian Hedvig Wessel. The discipline offered a dramatic illustration of Bentley’s performance credentials in extreme conditions.
Beyond the races, Bentley revealed the Bentayga X Concept, an off-road-focused proposal for the Bentayga family. The concept features a 55 mm increase in ride height, a 120 mm wider track, off-road tyres and revised geometry, resulting in nearly 310 mm of ground clearance and a wading depth of over 550 mm. A roof-mounted storage system carried a FAT Karting League go-kart and additional lighting during the Ice Race. Bentley positioned the concept as an exploration of customer interest in a more rugged interpretation of the Bentayga.
Visual impact on the ice was enhanced by bespoke liveries for the Continental GT S and Bentayga Speed, created by automotive artist Deathspray. The designs referenced the modified Supersports used in the film “Supersports: FULL SEND” featuring Travis Pastrana. That same car, known as Mildred, was displayed at the event following its role in filming at Bentley’s Crewe factory.
Away from the track, Bentley hosted more than 250 VIP guests in a purpose-built hospitality space known as the Green House. The experience combined music, design and automotive storytelling, including a Bentayga equipped with an espresso machine and a curated soundtrack released on limited-edition vinyl records. The atmosphere reflected Bentley’s effort to merge performance, lifestyle and cultural elements.
The event also marked the debut of a limited Bentley x FAT International jacket, designed by Bentley’s Creative Director Mai Ikuzawa and produced in a run of just 125 pieces.
Bentley has confirmed that the partnership with FAT International will continue at the FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, later in the year, followed by a day-long takeover of FAT’s Mankei location in Austria during the summer. Judging by the scale and ambition of the Zell am See debut, the collaboration is set to become an ongoing platform for Bentley to test new ideas in design, engineering and brand engagement.
