1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe Returns to Bring a Trailer
Bring a Trailer lists a no-reserve 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe with fuel injection and 4-speed manual, bid now at $85,000.
A 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe has returned to the spotlight on Bring a Trailer, where a no-reserve example equipped with mechanical fuel injection and a four-speed manual transmission is currently up for auction. At the time of writing, bidding had reached $85,000 with less than a day remaining before the sale closes.
The car belongs to the C2 generation and features the distinctive split-window coupe design, a body style strongly associated with the 1963 model year. It is finished in Riverside Red (paint code 923) over black vinyl upholstery, and the listing notes that the car was repainted in the mid-1980s. Exterior details include concealed headlights, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance.
Under the hood sits a replacement 327ci V8 fitted with Rochester mechanical fuel injection, sending power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A stainless steel exhaust system is also installed. The seller notes that the Corvette has spent an extended period on static display, meaning it may require recommissioning work before regular road use.
The equipment list reflects the car’s period-correct character, including 15-inch steel wheels with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps, Uniroyal whitewall tires, a push-button AM radio, an analog clock, and a heater. Braking is handled by four-wheel drum brakes, while the chassis features independent suspension with control arms up front and a three-link rear setup with a transverse leaf spring.
The odometer shows 91,000 miles, but it is not functioning, leaving the total mileage unknown. That detail has become a point of discussion among bidders, along with questions surrounding the replacement engine, body condition, and potential hidden fiberglass damage.
The Corvette’s auction history adds another layer of interest. This same car previously appeared on Bring a Trailer in May 2025, when it sold for $175,000. It has now resurfaced as part of the F_Tundra Collection, being offered following the passing of its owner. The listing is handled by dealer Private Collection Motors, which states that vehicles from the collection are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties.
With its split-window styling, mechanical fuel injection setup, and documented recent sale history, this no-reserve listing is shaping up as a notable market data point. At the same time, the car’s extended storage period and possible servicing needs add uncertainty—making the final hammer price a closely watched result for collectors.
