Volkswagen has released a 57-image GTI Concept Vehicles album, featuring Golf Design Vision GTI and GTI Roadster. Explore the highlights and key specs.

Volkswagen has expanded its Newsroom media library with a new image album titled GTI Concept Vehicles. The collection features 57 images and highlights a range of GTI concept cars that have shaped the brand’s sporty identity over the years, from extreme design studies to digital-era show cars.

One of the key models featured is the Golf Design Vision GTI, a bold interpretation of the GTI idea created to showcase the limits of Volkswagen performance engineering. Official technical data lists the concept at 503 PS (370 kW), placing it far beyond the traditional hot hatch category and underlining how seriously Volkswagen has treated GTI performance even in experimental form.

Another standout is the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo, developed as part of the Vision Gran Turismo programme. The roadster combines an aggressive, futuristic design with striking figures: 503 PS and 665 Nm of torque. Specifications also cite a top speed of 309 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 3.6 seconds, positioning it closer to a supercar than a classic GTI.

Concept cars rarely make it into production unchanged, but they play a crucial role in shaping a brand’s future direction. In Volkswagen’s case, these GTI studies serve as a clear reminder that the iconic three-letter badge remains closely tied to performance and driving excitement, even as design language and technology continue to evolve.

With the 50th anniversary of GTI set for 2026, the album feels less like a simple archive and more like a visual statement. Volkswagen has already confirmed that the GTI philosophy will continue into the future, including through electrification. The company previously unveiled the ID. GTI Concept and stated that series development has already been decided.

Seen in that context, the release of the GTI Concept Vehicles album ahead of the anniversary year appears to be a deliberate move: Volkswagen is reflecting on decades of GTI heritage while quietly pointing toward what comes next — a performance story set to continue in a new technological era.
