Honda Earns Five 2026 Parents.com Best Family Car Awards
Parents.com named Honda Accord, HR-V, Passport and Odyssey among its 2026 Best Family Cars, highlighting five category wins across major family segments.
Honda has strengthened its position in the family vehicle segment, earning five 2026 Best Family Cars Awards from Parents.com — more than any other automaker this year. The winning lineup includes the Honda Accord, HR-V, Passport and Odyssey, each recognized in its respective category.
The Accord was named Best Family Sedan, the HR-V topped the Compact SUV category and additionally received the title of Best Value SUV for Families, the Passport led among Mid-Size 5-Passenger SUVs, and the Odyssey once again stood out as a leading three-row minivan for larger households.
According to Parents.com, an expert panel spent the year evaluating more than 150 vehicles, reviewing them both on paper and through real-world test drives. Judges assessed not only driving dynamics and equipment levels, but also everyday usability: ease of installing child seats and the number of LATCH anchors, third-row accessibility, rear-seat space, standard safety features and available technology. The jury included automotive specialists and founders of family-focused car review platforms.
Independent safety data provides additional context. IIHS rating pages for the 2026 model year are available for the Accord, HR-V, Passport and Odyssey, with some models noting that results apply to recently redesigned generations or draw from testing of closely related vehicles. This indicates that formal crash-test performance forms part of the broader evaluation landscape.
Sales performance further underscores the significance of the awards. In 2025, Honda sold 150,196 Accords, 148,771 HR-Vs, 88,462 Odysseys and 55,231 Passports in the United States. These figures show that the recognized models are not niche products, but high-volume vehicles with established market presence.
The HR-V also provides a European perspective. In Germany, pricing starts at 33,900 euros, and ADAC testing reported fuel consumption of around 6.1 liters per 100 kilometers. The model’s Magic Seats system is frequently highlighted for its interior flexibility — a feature directly aligned with family practicality.
Collectively, the results suggest more than a one-off achievement. The combination of multiple awards, independent safety recognition and strong sales volumes points to a structured approach in Honda’s family-oriented vehicle strategy, spanning segments from sedans to minivans.
