The Genesis GV80 has been named a winner in the Parents 2026 Best Family Cars Awards, taking the title of Best Luxury 5-Passenger SUV. The publication highlighted the SUV for a mix of purposeful design, safety-focused technology, and convenience features aimed at everyday family life.

Genesis framed the recognition as a reflection of its broader approach to “thoughtful engineering” and technology that supports drivers rather than distracts them. In a statement, Genesis Motor North America chief operating officer Tedros Mengiste said the GV80 is designed to exceed expectations for customers and their families, and that the award underscores the role of meaningful tech in shaping an elevated experience for parents and passengers.

The announcement also points to updates for the 2026 model year. Inside, the GV80 features a 27-inch-wide OLED integrated instrument cluster and navigation screen, along with a redesigned console area that includes larger cupholders and a wireless charging tray. Genesis also listed available driver-assistance features such as Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, positioning them as tools to help drivers feel more confident on daily trips.

Parents describes its Best Family Cars selections as vehicles that excel in safety and improve the day-to-day experience for families, with winners chosen through a combination of expert evaluation, real-world testing, and industry data review. For 2026, the awards span 24 winners, based on a market review of more than 150 vehicles across multiple segments and powertrains. In the GV80’s category, Parents also cited the BMW X5 and Lexus RX as runners-up.
