Bentley presents the sold-out Supersports at the FAT Ice Race in Montana, alongside Speed Six Continuation and Bentayga X Concept. Explore key details.

Bentley has extended its partnership with FAT International by bringing its cars onto the ice of Montana for the inaugural FAT Ice Race in Big Sky. The centerpiece of the brand’s appearance was the US dynamic debut of the now sold-out Supersports, presented in extreme winter conditions before an American audience.

The car that starred in the recent Supersports: FULL SEND film – where Travis Pastrana drove it at speeds of up to 100 mph around Bentley’s campus in Crewe – returned to the spotlight. In Montana, the driver’s seat was taken by professional racer Lia Block, the youngest-ever American Rally Association champion in 2023. For the ice event, the car remained virtually unchanged from its film specification, aside from the addition of 2.5 mm studs fitted to the tyres.

Limited to 500 units, Supersports is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 666 PS and driving the rear wheels. Positioned as one of the most dynamic models in Bentley’s modern history, its appearance on an ice track reinforced the performance credentials highlighted in the FULL SEND campaign and demonstrated the car’s capabilities beyond conventional road settings.

Sharing the frozen circuit was the Speed Six Continuation Series in ‘Factory Works’ specification, created by Mulliner. The original Speed Six secured victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1929 and 1930, and the modern Continuation Series recreates the pre-war model using original drawings and period-correct techniques. Production is limited to 12 cars. The example shown in Montana was finished in Bedford Grey with an Oxblood interior and featured laser-engraved signatures of the team responsible for its build.

Also making its US debut was the Bentayga X Concept, a vision of a more off-road-focused Bentayga. Based on the Bentayga Speed with a 650 PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, permanent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission, the concept introduces substantial chassis revisions. Track width has been increased by 120 mm, ride height by 55 mm, and the wheel arches extended by 40 mm. Ground clearance reaches just under 310 mm, while wading depth exceeds 550 mm. The concept rides on forged 22-inch Brixton wheels with off-road tyres and retains Bentley Dynamic Ride, the brand’s 48V active anti-roll system.

Its exterior remains deliberately functional, featuring roof-mounted storage, additional spotlights and even an electric Bambino-size go-kart from the FAT Karting League to demonstrate cargo versatility. With these additions, overall height rises to 2.49 metres.

This marks Bentley’s second visit to Big Sky within nine months, following the global media drive of the Bentayga Speed at the same location. The partnership with FAT International is set to continue later this year with a day-long takeover of Mankei, FAT’s base on Austria’s Grossglockner Pass, situated approximately 2,200 metres above sea level.

Taken together, Bentley’s presence at FAT Ice Race signaled more than a winter showcase. It underlined a broader positioning within contemporary car culture, where heritage projects, limited-run performance models and experimental concepts converge on equal footing.
